December 1986 Issue Of Computer Entertainer
Computer Entertainer is one of the only sources for NES news and reviews. The video game magazine scene has been long gone, but maybe with the resurgence of the industry the magazines will make a return.
This month the editors catch up on reviewing many of the third-party licensee games that have been released for the NES over the past few months. It looks like the best of the bunch is Capcom’s Ghosts ‘N Goblins. Despite the massive amounts of flicker, the reviewer really enjoyed the game’s challenge. Nintendo Times will have its review posted in the near future, so stay tuned for a second opinion!
Below are the pages pertaining to the NES from the December issue of Computer Entertainer. You can view or download the entire issue here.
Computer Entertainer Review Guidelines:
THE RATING SYSTEM:
4 SYMBOLS = EXCELLENT
3 SYMBOLS = GOOD
2 SYMBOLS = FAIR
1 SYMBOL = POOR
♦ = ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMS (1st set of diamonds = quality of graphics; 2nd set = quality of game play and entertainment value)
Any program for a given system is compared only to other programs for the same system. In other words, all C64-compatibles are judged separately from Apple. Some programs, which are virtually identical for multiple systems, will be so noted. When we review software for more than one system, we will note differences and which system we reviewed.
