Ed Semrad Reviews The NES Advantage Joystick From Nintendo
In today’s edition of The Milwaukee Journal, veteran video game journalist Ed Semrad has gotten his hands on Nintendo’s new joystick, the NES Advantage. He has been a big detractor of the two controllers included with the NES Control Deck. While we haven’t had near the issues that he’s apparently had with the standard NES controllers, we do agree that the system needed a joystick. It’s what we’re used to using as an input device dating all the way back to the Atari 2600.
Of course, it wouldn’t be revolutionary for Nintendo to just release a standard joystick. It has some new bells and whistles, like a slow motion button and turbo knobs for the “A” and “B” action buttons. The stick itself is sturdy and offers up great 8-way directional movement. Check out Ed’s full evaluation below!
