Gaming Historian Video – The Life Of Satoru Iwata

Back in July of this year the gaming industry suffered a major loss when Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, passed away. Although he had been sick the prior year, by all public accounts he seemed to be on his way to a full recovery.

The shock of his death resonated with many Nintendo fans as Iwata was very much one of the public faces of Nintendo. He spoke to us through Nintendo Directs and offered up amazing insights into the inner workings of game development through his series of Iwata Asks columns on Nintendo’s site.

Mr. Iwata was a programmer and a gamer, which (ironically) are unusual traits for the president of a video game company. He had a hand in many games throughout the years, and the Gaming Historian has created an excellent video that details how much influence and reach Mr. Iwata had. Check it out below:
