Pokkén Tournament Wii U Controller Announced
To celebrate the release of Pokkén Tournament on Wii U on March 18, 2016 in Japan, Nintendo will ship a special edition controller that mimics the one found on arcade machines. It will retail for 3,480 yen (about 30 U.S. dollars) and features a nice and big D-Pad to allow for better control of your fighters. The face buttons also feature colored lettering, matching that found on the New Nintendo 3DS XL and borrowing the color scheme from the standard set way back in 1990 with the Super Famicom controllers.

Nintendo has also announced a new Wii U bundle for Japan. Also hitting store shelves on March 18, the 32 GB Deluxe system will come with a copy of Pokkén Tournament, a Pokémon Battle Action List sheet and the Dark Mewtwo amiibo card. It is set to retail for 36,800 yen (roughly $300 U.S. dollars).
No word on official release dates for the game, the controller, or if a bundle will release stateside. We expect to hear more on NOA’s launch plans in January.
