Update: Fire Emblem Fates New 3DS XL Preorders Up At Retailers
[Updated Story written on 1/20/16 at 7:15 PM CT]
I mentioned in the original story that the Fire Emblem 3DS XL could possibly sell out quickly, and it appears it has. GameStop.com is now offering the handheld, but only via a bundle that comes with physical copies of both Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Conquest for $279.99. If you’re determined to try and get one preordered at GameStop, check in with individual stores to see if they may still have reservable stock of just the system itself for $199.99.
In addition, as of this writing, Best Buy’s site has the $199.99 3DS XL up for reserve. There’s no telling how long this will last, so act quickly if this is something you’re interested in buying.

If you’re quick, you can secure your New 3DS XL Fire Emblem edition from GameStop. It has gone up on the site, but if prior instances are any indication, it may not stay up there long. The new limited edition system will retail for $199.99 and release on February 19.
If you’re reading this and it’s already sold out, you may want to get in touch with your local brick and mortar GameStop to see if they have any left to preorder in-store. Many times the stores and website have very different quantities available to reserve.
