GameStop Celebrates Pokémon Day

On Saturday, February 27 it’s the 20th anniversary of the release of Pokémon Red and Green in Japan. As part of the celebration, Nintendo is releasing the first three Pokémon games originally released on the Game Boy: Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow digitally on the 3DS eShop for $9.99 apiece. In addition, a limited edition New 3DS will be available at select retailers, while supplies last.

Now, video game specialty retailer GameStop has announced its plans for Pokémon Day. This Saturday you can stop by your local store and pick up a free double-sided poster when you purchase any Pokémon products. In addition there are several pieces of merchandise on sale for 20% off regular retail: GameStop exclusive Mew figure, GameStop exclusive 8-inch plush Pikachu, Plush Pokéballs, and standard Plus Pokémon characters. Also, from February 24 through March 8 the Red and Black New 3DS XL handhelds will be $25 off – so $174.99 each. Check out the ad below:
