Nintendo’s Fiscal 2015 Year-End Report On April 27
While Nintendo’s fiscal year ends on March 31, it’s not expected to report its year-end sales results for 2015 until April 27. This gives it time to compile all of the data for the year and to make the important decisions as to what to forecast for the coming year (April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017). Interestingly the meeting is a full week ahead of the last two years of financial reporting.
Typically the day after the results are released Nintendo will hold a financial results briefing with investors. This is where the company president, Mr. Kimishima will give a presentation and outline the upcoming year’s plans. This could also be where we hear more information on Nintendo’s NX. I’m not expecting them to reveal it at this type of venue as that would be unprecedented, but we could at least get a better glimpse at the timeline of when the NX is expected to rollout or, a the very least, when it will be unveiled, assuming it hasn’t already happened prior to this date.
It’s always difficult to predict Nintendo’s future plans, but at the very least we have a date looming not too far in the future where we should get at least a morsel of information to chew on regarding the NX. Even if Nintendo refuses to talk about the new platform, much will be able to be inferred by the financial forecasts they release. As always, we’ll keep you up to date on all matters concerning Nintendo.
