Zelda Wii U Delayed Until 2017 & Announced For NX

In order to reach the quality desired, the upcoming The Legend of Zelda game scheduled to release for the Wii U during Holiday 2016 (delayed already from Holiday 2015) has once again been delayed. This time it’s a nebulous 2017 release date. It’s also been announced as being in development for the upcoming NX gaming platform and will have a simultaneous release alongside the Wii U version.

Looks like another year will pass us by.

If history is repeating itself, it could be that Zelda will be a launch title for the NX, which as of now has been announced to hit stores across the globe sometime in March of 2017. Zelda will still appear at this year’s E3 show and be a main focus of the event, but the NX is not scheduled to be shown off there. If this indeed happens, it will mark the first time in modern history that Nintendo has not had an upcoming system playable at E3 before it launches.
