Nintendo eShop Digital Download Thursdays

This week is filled with Pokémon goodness for owners of the Wii U. Nintendo has reached into its back catalog of Mystery Dungeon games and brought them to the Wii U Virtual Console service. Red Rescue Team (GBA) and Blue Rescue Team (DS) were early titles in the series and Explorers of Sky is a more recent entry. Nintendo promises more Pokémon games to come to the service later this year.

If you have a New 3DS you can download Super Nintendo virtual console games to your handheld. This week it’s the hard as nails Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts from Capcom. Originally launched in November of 1991 in the U.S., it was a showpiece for detailed graphics and a memorable soundtrack.

Other games out this week for Wii U include Mighty No. 9, the Mega Man wannabe that was Kickstarted so many years ago. Two retail games, which will also be on the eShop, are releasing tomorrow: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. By all accounts the Atlus/Nintendo crossover RPG is a hit and I can’t wait to give it a try.
