Scott Moffitt Leaving Nintendo
Joining Nintendo of America back in 2011, Scott Moffitt is the current Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Nintendo of America. He has decided to part ways and will relinquish his role in the company on July 31. Game Informer reports that the position will be eliminated going forward, with no single person taking his spot.
Instead Nintendo explained that it “…has a strong group of seasoned leaders in place who will step in to assume the full responsibilities of the role on a permanent basis, with the objective of driving more collaboration and greater efficiencies across these groups among the respective leaders.”
How this will impact marketing at Nintendo’s North American branch remains to be seen. Perhaps a shakeup was needed after the disastrous Wii U marketing and the confusing “New Nintendo 3DS” messaging. According to Nintendo, Moffitt made the decision to leave the company.
