DSi Points Ending On September 30
All good things must come to an end. Even the not-so-good things. Nintendo sent out a reminder today that DSi Points will no longer be able to be added to an account after September 30. In addition, the entire DSi Shop will be going offline forever on March 31, 2017. This means if you have point cards you haven’t redeemed, you’ll want to do so before the end of September. You’ll need to use those points up by the end of March.
This has no impact on the 3DS eShop, which is an entirely different entity. It only impacts those with DSi or DSi XL systems.
Dear Nintendo fans,
In preparation for the closure of the Nintendo DSi Shop on March 31, 2017, we will be removing the ability to add Nintendo DSi Points with either a credit card or a Nintendo DSi Points Card on September 30, 2016 at 5:00 PM (PT). If you’d like to purchase Nintendo DSi Points, please do so before this functionality is removed. For more information on the closure of the Nintendo DSi Shop, please visit http;//support.nintendo.com/dsi/shopnews.
Thanks for your support,
Your Friends at Nintendo
