Animal Crossing: New Leaf Fall Update

We reported some time ago that Animal Crossing: New Leaf would be receiving an update this fall to add in amiibo support. This was confirmed today via the Nintendo Direct. The free update will allow gamers to use Animal Crossing amiibo cards and figures, as well as some other surprises.

In addition to the Animal Crossing amiibo, select figures from other series will be compatible as well. A new wave of Animal Crossing amiibo cards will release on December 2, 2016 and there will be a total of 50 new characters that haven’t been seen before in New Leaf. That character will then appear in the game and so will his or her interior designs! You can then convince that animal to move into your village so you can interact and possibly nab some of their gear.

Also announced today is a new package called Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome amiibo. This version comes with a brand new amiibo card and will be available this holiday. Nintendo will host a special Animal Crossing mini-update video in the coming months to better explain and reveal more of the update’s features.
