Unofficial Nintendo Switch Size Comparisons to 3DS, Wii U, iPhone

[Updated 1/30/17 – Actual Pictures & Video Comparisons]:

During GameXplain’s video interview with Yacht Club Games, the makers of Shovel Knight, the crew took some pictures of the Nintendo Switch next to a Wii U GamePad and a MacBook. We captured the images and have them posted below for comparison. You can watch the full video below to hear some insight from the developer as well.

In addition, we came across this other video on YouTube from Tilmendomination that does an amazing job of comparing the Nintendo Switch to other devices. You’ll see these comparisons begin at about 3:08 into the video, but the entire thing is worth a watch. Enjoy!

[Original Article]:

Not a lot is known about the Nintendo Switch other than what was shown via the preview trailer last week. Many of the details had leaked months prior and part of those leaks was the rumor that it will feature a 6.2 inch screen. Assuming that to be the case, Twitter user @KingAveryGames took some time to create some mock-ups comparing the Nintendo Switch to other familiar devices.

What’s interesting is that while the screen size is obviously bigger than the 3DS XL or the Wii U GamePad, the actual tablet portion of the Nintendo Switch console isn’t as big as you might think. Also, the pictures don’t show its depth, but remember that it’s fairly thin, especially when compared to prior Nintendo devices. If you were to remove the JoyCon controllers it might even fit in a slightly larger pocket or the inside pocket of your jacket.
