Zelda 30th Anniversary amiibo Functionality In Breath Of The Wild

Yesterday the new 30th anniversary Zelda amiibo were released. They include 8-bit Link, Ocarina of Time Link, and the dual-pack that contains Windwaker Link & Zelda.

These new figures are compatible with the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. According to Nintendo:

The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary amiibo are in stores today! Each will offer random items you can use in the game when used with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Legend has it, you may even receive a treasure chest with a rare item if you’re lucky?!

In addition to a treasure chest, the various amiibo will give players some additional materials. 8-bit Link will reward players with a random number of barrels of rupees. Ocarina of Time Link gives players a random amount of meat.

Toon Link brings a random amount of fish. Lastly, Wind Waker Zelda will reward players with a random selection of plants. Details are scarce, but we assume you can probably only use one of each amiibo per 24 hours, similar to previous usage limits in other games.

Remember, the Wolf Link amiibo is also able to be used in the game. By tapping it to the GamePad or Switch, Wolf Link will materialize in the game to help take care of monsters and to locate treasures.
