EB Games Australia Shows First Nintendo Switch Accessories
If you live in Australia, you’ve been able to pre-order the Nintendo Switch from EB Games for awhile now. Not only can you place your order for the system (with a placeholder price of $999.00), but you can also reserve the Pro Controller, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Just Dance 2017, Skyrim, Mario 3D, Mario Kart, Splatoon, and Basketball.
Recently added were three accessories from GameStop & EB’s internal brand: @play. These include: Nintendo Switch Starter Pack (1 case, 2 screen protectors & cleaning cloth), Nintendo Switch Starter Pack Plus (1 case, 2 screen protectors, cleaning cloth & earbuds), and Nintendo Switch Extra-Long 3m Charging Cable (USB-A to USB-C Charging Cable, in red or black chosen at random).
If this is accurate, it marks the first time in a very long while that Nintendo will be using a universal charging port on its handheld portion of the system. One has to go all the way back to its original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and original GBA to find standardized plugs for charging. Beginning the the GBA SP, Nintendo began creating unique adapters that weren’t compatible with standard components. This represents a very nice and consumer-friendly change, especially since many households will already own several of these cords.
