Eternal Darkness Trademark Renewed Again

Last month Nintendo filed a trademark for Eternal Darkness that covers video game software and downloadable electronic game software. This isn’t uncommon for Nintendo to keep the rights to its previous games active and fresh. However, it does lead us to speculate that perhaps Nintendo is going to release Eternal Darkness for the rumored GameCube Virtual Console on the Nintendo Switch.

I’d prefer a full remaster or sequel, but in a pinch a straight port will do. Eternal Darkness was a fantastic game that never really caught on like Silent Hill or Resident Evil. It’s become somewhat difficult to easily play it since most people don’t own a GameCube and a copy of the game. Let’s hope something good comes of this filing!
