Snipperclips – Cut It Out Together Preview

[Updated 2/24/17 – Snipperclips Official Trailer]:

Lots of updates today! Nintendo has released an official trailer for Snipperclips. Enjoy!

[Updated 2/24/17 – Snipperclips Makes Launch & Artwork Added]:

We heard late last night that Snipperclips was going to make the Japanese Nintendo Switch launch, but we weren’t sure if it would be the same in the United States. This morning Nintendo has confirmed that it will be available on the Nintendo Switch eShop on March 3 for us as well, which is fantastic news!

For those unaware, Snipperclips is an original game where players must figure out the puzzle to proceed to the next level. These different rooms have different objectives and often require critical thinking to figure out the solution. Some might be as simple as getting a basketball into the basket. Others might require you to scoop out some liquid and place it in a container.

The characters you control are made out of paper, and can be rotated and moved in all sorts of directions. By placing one character over another you can snip the other player based on the shape of your character. By creating unique shapes, you will then be able to use your characters to manipulate objects in the room to solve the various challenges. The game supports up to four players and even has a mode for competitive activities.

For more information, check out our preview. Snipperclips will release on March 3 exclusively on the Nintendo eShop.

[Original Preview]:

You have to hand it to Nintendo – they sure have some bizarre games in the hopper for the Nintendo Switch. This one has players cutting up pieces of paper to try and solve puzzles together. I didn’t really see too much on this one yet, so it’s difficult tell what’s going on from just looking at screens. The game is scheduled to release in March and I believe it may be a digital only game since it’s $19.99.

Cut paper characters into new shapes to solve dynamic puzzles and play activities in a wonderfully creative and imaginative world!

  • Work together with friends to cut paper characters into new shapes and solve puzzles – Communicate and cooperate (or not) and move the paper characters on the screen. Get creative and cut shapes out of each other to interact with the environment, move objects, and solve puzzles

  • Dynamic puzzles full of ever-changing gameplay – Use your imagination to solve puzzles of many different types in fun and interesting ways

  • Two different types of modes – Solve basic and advanced puzzles by yourself or with a friend in the main game. Then, work together as a team and solve up to 4-player dynamic puzzles or compete against each other in activities!
