FIFA For Switch Confirmed To Be FIFA 18
At the Nintendo Switch Presentation event in January, EA went on stage to announce that they are bringing FIFA to the new console. They didn’t specify which year or version the Switch would be receiving, other than it would be a version built specifically for the Switch to take advantage of its unique capabilities.
This past weekend EA attended a FIFA event in Paris and Gamereactor was there to ask Peter Moore a few questions about the upcoming Nintendo Switch game. He confirmed that it will be FIFA 18 and it will come out later in the year:
Well, as we have said, we are custom-building a FIFA version for the Nintendo Switch. It will be FIFA 18, and it will obviously be later this year when FIFA 18 comes out. What you have will be a custom built version for the Nintendo Switch from the FIFA development team in Vancouver.
At this juncture it’s obvious that EA is taking a wait-and-see approach with the Switch. They haven’t announced any other games for the system and it looks like unless it’s a massive success they probably won’t bring their games over. This isn’t surprising seeing as EA has barely released any games on 3DS or Wii U, and appears to be satisfied sticking with Sony and Microsoft.
