Nintendo Switch: Extra 25% GPU Power Available For Developers In Handheld Mode
Eurogamer has gotten its hands on a new development document for the Nintendo Switch. It shows that developers now have access to 25% more GPU power in handheld mode than previously stated in documents from last July. This brings the GPU Speed up from 307.2 MHz to 384 MHz. This boost in power doesn’t come close to the 768 MHz while docked, but it should help developers enhance certain graphical effects and frame rates while running on battery power on the go.
There’s much more discussion on the topic at Eurogamer. They dive into various specs and come up with some interesting observations. Give it a read!
As we’re sure everyone reading this knows by now, the Nintendo Switch launches worldwide on March 3, 2017. It will retail for $299.99 in the United States.
