Nintendo Doubling Production Of Nintendo Switch
As anyone who has been looking for a Nintendo Switch knows, they’re currently difficult to find. Second shipments are going out to retailers in North America next week, with stores like Toys R Us, GameStop, and Target all confirmed to be getting more stock of the highly sought after product.
Due to high demand for the Switch and impressive sales of games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has decided to double its production of the Switch for fiscal year ending March 31, 2018. It had originally forecast to produce 8 million systems from April 1 through March 31, and it now plans to ship 16 million. Assuming all of those sell, the Switch will have outsold the Wii U’s life to date install base in under a year! If the sales continue, we expect more support for the system will be announced in the coming months as developers bring new projects to fruition for the expanded user base.
