Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows Of Valentia Gets High Praise From Famitsu

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a complete remake of the Famicom game, Fire Emblem Gaiden. It was an offshoot of the series that allowed for a more JRPG-like exploration of towns, caves, and dungeons. It has been brought up to today’s audio and visual standards and infused with current Fire Emblem gameplay mechanics to create a truly unique experience that should stand out from the previous entries in the series.

Famitsu seems to think so too – as they’ve just scored the game 9|9|10|9 from four reviewers, giving it a total of 37 out of 40. This marks the highest score for any Fire Emblem game in Japan (beating Fates & Awakening by one point) and bodes well for the new game.

We’re excited to give this new one a whirl when it releases next month on May 19. As fans of traditional JRPGs and the Fire Emblem series, we’re hoping this one really delivers.
