8Bitdo Wireless Controllers Now Compatible With Nintendo Switch

8Bitdo has been making wireless controllers in the mold of classic Nintendo gamepads for awhile now. They became pretty popular when the NES Classic Edition hit last fall due to the insanely short controller cord length of the bundled NES controller. We’ve heard good things about these controllers over the past few months, although admittedly we haven’t had a chance to try one for ourselves.

That may soon change, however, with the recent firmware update that the company has put up on its site. This allows their line of controllers to connect wirelessly to the Nintendo Switch, allowing gamers to use these classically inspired gamepads with their Switch games. Imagine playing Ultra Street Fighter II with the SNES controller. Talk about ’90s nostalgia overload. Plus, once the Virtual Console finally makes an appearance, these could be the best way to play them.
