Flashback Remastered, Syberia 1-3, Gear.Club & Blacksad Coming To Switch
Nintendo Switch will be receiving a bunch of ports courtesy of Microids. The company has announced plans to bring over the cult classic Syberia adventure games. All three have appeared elsewhere, so it will be nice to have the entire trilogy on one console. Both Syberia and Syberia 2 are scheduled to arrive this year, with Syberia 3 coming in early 2018.
One game that we never thought we’d see come back from the dead is Flashback. This game was a big deal back in the Genesis and Super NES days. It played a bit like Out Of This World and “featured” pixel-perfect jumps, which resulted in some difficult platforming. We’re curious if any improvements have been made all these years later. Flashback Remastered will arrive late this year.
Gear.Club is a racing game making its way to Nintendo’s hybrid system. It was originally made for Android and iOS devices, so it remains to be seen if this is a quality racer and how it will translate to the Switch. It appears to focus on authentic cars and the mobile version featured online championships and events. It’s also scheduled to arrive before Christmas.
Last, but certainly not least is Blacksad. This game is based on the popular graphic novel and will arrive sometime in 2018.
To be fair, most of these games have appeared on other platforms over the years. For example, Flashback Remastered was on the Xbox 360 four years ago. So, while these might not be the newest games ever created, if you’re into the franchise at least now you’ll have a version you can take with you on the go.
