Rocket League Preview
Fans have been clamoring for Rocket League to come to the Nintendo Switch, and now it’s been officially announced! It will arrive this holiday season and feature robust support options. Not only can you play online up to 8 players, but you can also throw down anywhere with anyone at anytime with the local 8 player option (each person with his or her own Switch). Imagine you and seven of your friends all in the same room yelling at each other! Ah, the life. Of course the game does support four player split screen when played on the TV as well!
For those who don’t know what Rocket League is, it’s a game where you drive a vehicle and hit a huge ball. Your objective is to score a goal against the opposing team. Basically it’s soccer with bad-ass cars. The game is incredibly fun to play with friends, which is why this makes it a perfect choice for the Switch.
You don’t have to be online to play this game either, you can have fun while riding the train or the bus! The game has a fully featured offline season mode so you can play solo on the go. The Nintendo Switch version will also contain exclusive Battle-Cars and Customization options not found elsewhere. The game features Cross-Network play with Xbox One and PC users so you’ll always have someone to play against! We’re looking forward to the battles ahead.
Rocket League on Nintendo Switch will include the same features, upgrades and content that millions of players worldwide have come to know and love on other platforms, plus several exclusives available only to Nintendo Switch owners. Exclusive Battle-Cars and Customization items will also be available, including Mario and Luigi hat toppers to decorate your car, with additional details to be announced later this year.
Rocket League will support all of the various play modes on Nintendo Switch, including TV mode, Tabletop mode, Handheld mode, both Online and Local Multiplayer, and be available for 1-8 players. It will also launch with Cross-Network support for players to compete against opponents on other available platforms. Additional details on the Nintendo Switch version will be announced in the coming months.
Rocket League is a high-powered hybrid of arcade soccer and driving with rewarding physics-based gameplay, and will be celebrating its 2nd Anniversary this July. Boasting a community of more than 32 million players, Rocket League is currently available on Xbox One, and Windows PC, Mac, and SteamOS via Steam, with the Nintendo Switch version to launch Holiday 2017.
