Super NES Classic Edition Pre-Orders Coming Later This Month

Nintendo has confirmed via its Facebook page that retailers will begin taking pre-orders on the Super NES Classic Edition late this month. They also acknowledge the demand for the device and promise that a significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day and throughout the calendar year.

We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month.

A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.

Assuming this holds true, this is fantastic news for everybody. Last year’s release of the NES Classic Edition was a huge debacle with way too few units supplied compared to demand. Hopefully Nintendo has estimated demand correctly this time around and those looking for one can easily do so. We will report back as retailers begin to take reservations.
