Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Version 1.3.1 Is Now Available

Nintendo updated The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to version 1.3.1. It includes some bug fixes to improve gameplay, which is all normal and what we’ve come to expect from these free updates. However, there’s something else that could be really cool – a new way to get items in the game.

Here’s how it works, starting on August 9, a dedicated News Channel will open in the News tab on the Nintendo Switch. By reading certain articles you’ll be able to get items sent to your game. No word on what these items might be or if they’ll be worth the time or not, but it’s nice to see Nintendo trying something new. Here’s the full details on the patch:

Version 1.3.1

  • We have fixed the issue in Pack 1: The Master Trials of the Expansion Pass, in which defeating certain enemies for Kilton was not counted toward completion when playing in Master Mode.

  • In-game items can now be obtained from launching the software from certain articles distributed through a new News channel (“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Tips from the Wild”) which can be accessed through News on the Home menu.

    • This channel is expected to open on 8/9/2017.
    • Depending on your game progress and location, certain items may not be obtainable.
  • Various fixes to improve gameplay.
