Level-5 Focusing On Switch In 2018
When the Nintendo Switch was officially unveiled last January, one of the most surprising revelations was the lack of Japanese third party support. Normally Nintendo has had those companies lining up to create games for its systems, especially in the handheld realm. Due to the 3DS still seeing success and the Wii U being such a massive failure, many of the Japanese developers took a wait and see approach. Now that it’s been selling like crazy, more are jumping on the bandwagon to create new software.
Level-5 is one such developer. They’ve seen massive success with their Yo-Kai Watch games on the 3DS and now the CEO of the company, Akihiro Hino has revealed that one of the company’s main goals for 2018 is to focus on the Switch. Of course no games were revealed (yet), but we know they are famous for creating colorful RPGs, including games like Ni No Kuni, which did come out on the DS in Japan. They could be focusing their efforts on completely new games or perhaps porting some over to the Switch. Either way, more support is always a good thing! We’ll keep you updated as games are officially announced.
Hino has went on record stating he’s a big fan of the Switch and carries it around all the time. He loves what Nintendo was able to accomplish with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the game that most impressed him in 2017. What games do you hope come to the Switch? Sound off down below!
