Nintendo Labo Seems To Be Resonating With Japanese Investors & Gamers
Nintendo Labo was a surprise announcement yesterday and it seems to be receiving positive feedback in Japan. Nintendo’s stock is up an impressive 2.36% for the day following the reveal. On top of that it is the number one trending subject across Twitter users in Japan. It’s also getting traction in the U.S. with Amazon currently listing the Robot Kit as the number one seller in the video game department and the Variety Kit comes in at number six overall.
Although it remains to be seen just how big of a hit Nintendo Labo will be, we couldn’t help but wonder if perhaps future games would implement Labo or maybe even have expansion kits for those who want to take advantage of extra features. One Nintendo Switch game in particular seems like a shoe-in for this: the as-yet-to-be-named Yoshi. The entire game is made up of cardboard cut-outs and would fit perfectly in the Nintendo Labo universe. As always we’ll have to wait and see how things shake out, but Nintendo could be onto something big here. Or not!
