Best Buy Ends Gamers Club Unlocked
One of our go-to places for ordering games has been Best Buy for the past five years or so thanks to a program called Gamers Club Unlocked. This membership allowed customers to order games with a 20% discount and only cost $30 for two years. It was a fantastic benefit for those that bought at least several games a year, and as such we did most of our video game shopping at Best Buy.
Unfortunately the retailer has decided to end the program. It will no longer allow new sign-ups or renewals. It appears that existing memberships will be honored until they naturally expire, but Best Buy has yet to comment on that.
It’s deeply disappointing to see this perk go away. For now, Amazon Prime members can still save 20% on upcoming video game releases, but we have to wonder if they’ll discontinue their discounts as well. Let’s hope not!
