Fire Emblem: Three Houses Comes To Switch Next Spring

Over a year ago Nintendo announced that a new Fire Emblem game was in the works for the Nintendo Switch. It was scheduled to come out sometime in 2018. Nintendo even had it listed as a 2018 game in its lates financial statements. Unfortunately the game has been pushed back to spring of 2019.

But, it’s not all doom and gloom! We actually got our first look at Fire Emblem: Three Houses during today’s Nintendo Direct. The title is looking pretty good, with fully animated cutscenes and more intense combat scenarios. The biggest change I could see from the trailer is that no longer will it just be you against a single foe. You’ll see other troops fighting the good fight all around you, making the battles seem more intense. Indeed, now when you maneuver a unit, formations of troops move with them and support them in battle.

We don’t know a ton about the story or the setup, but a few things were revealed. The game is set in a new world called Fódlan. Here the Church of Seiros exercises great power over the land and people. You’ll once again be able to forge relationships with various characters and it appears that you’ll be able to level up specific weapon types, like axes and swords. Check out the new trailer and screens below. I can’t wait for this one to come out!
