Sonic The Hedgehog & Thunder Force IV Come To Switch In August
Back in April we reported that Sega was going to be bringing out a line of classic games to the Nintendo Switch. These titles would come from a variety fo sources, including the Genesis, Sega Master System, and arcade. The first five games announced were: Sonic the Hedgehog, Thunder Force IV, Phantasy Star, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, and Gain Ground.
We now know (thanks to Famitsu) that Sonic and Thunder Force IV are the first two games in the Sega Ages library to release next month in Japan. Sonic will feature some 3DS features (such as the added Spin Dash) and Thunder Force IV will have online leaderboards. No release date has been solidified for North America, but we expect them to come roughly around the same time. The price should be somewhere around $7.99, although no official pricing has been given as of yet.
If these games are a success, Sega has hinted that it might consider bringing games from other systems, like the Dreamcast or Saturn – so be sure to support them if they interest you!
