Pre-Order Nintendo Switch Online 12-Month & 3-Month Memberships At Amazon
Nintendo is set to begin its paid online service this September (exact date to be announced). Amazon has put up pre-order pages so users can now pre-order a 12-month membership for $19.99 or a 3-month membership for $7.99. We’re not entirely sure why you’d want to pre-order the service, but maybe you have the money burning a hole in your pocket?
As a reminder the Nintendo Switch Online service will be required to play most games online. This includes popular games like Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as well as the upcoming Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The plan brings extra benefits to subscribers as well. At launch there will be 20 NES games that members can enjoy with added online functionality. As of press time only 10 of the 20 are known (Soccer, Tennis, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, Dr. Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Super Mario Bros. 3). The other 10 will be announced before the service kicks off in September.
In addition the service brings cloud saves to the Switch. Don’t worry about your save data being lost forever if something catastrophic happens to your Switch with the save data cloud backup.
Nintendo is also promising special offers for members. What this will entail is anybody’s guess, but we’re hoping for PlayStation Plus-like discounts on digital products.
We’ll have more on Nintendo Switch Online leading up to its release this September.
