[Update]: Picross S2 Coming To All Switches Next Week
[Updated 7/26/18]:
Great news! Jupiter has confirmed that Picross S2 is releasing worldwide on August 2 for the Nintendo Switch. It looks like I know what I’ll be doing next Thursday!
[Original Story]:
It’s no secret to anyone who has been reading Nintendo Times that the Picross series is one of my favorite puzzlers of all time. I was somewhat miffed that the 3DS just received a Picross game last week (I still own one but barely touch it these days), but all that has changed now that Picross S2 has been announced for the Switch!
It’s coming on August 2 in Japan for 900 Yen and hopefully it’ll be here next week as well! No word at this moment, but we’re sure it’ll make its way over sooner than later. We don’t know if there have been any improvements made, but we’ll pass along the information as we receive it!
Running the Japanese site through Google Translate we get the following:
The second series of Nintendo Switch ‘s Picross S series appeared! In addition to the total of 300 questions of the same Picross and Megapiclo as usual, a new mode “Clip Picross” was added. By solving the piece problem scattered on the board, it is a mode in which a big illustration is completed. Peace problem with more than 100 questions is obtained by advancing picros mode, and when you clear all clip picros, a story of one story appears. In addition, a convenient function that can count the number of squares while moving the cursor from this work has been added. “Picross” is a “picture crossword puzzle game” that completes illustrations with hints of numbers. It is simple and easy to understand, anyone can enjoy it easily. * It does not correspond to operation with the touch screen.
