New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Arrives In January On Switch

In what has probably been the worst-kept secret at Nintendo, we finally got confirmation that New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is coming to the Switch. It’s slated to arrive on January 11, 2019, just in time for…hmm…XMAS gift card spending? Perhaps the most surprising part of this announcement was that they decided to keep the “U” in the name.

This package will include all of New Super Mario Bros. U and Super Luigi U‘s levels as well as playable characters like Nabbit and Toadette (who can turn into a new character named Peachette – don’t ask). This release is kind of a no-brainer and it’s actually a very good game. It will contain all 164 levels to play. I had a massively good time playing through it on the Wii U, but I can’t help but be disappointed that we’re not receiving a brand new 2D Mario game. Perhaps we will at a later point?
