Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online Lineup For 2018 Revealed
Yesterday Nintendo announced that its new paid Switch Online service will start on September 18. The membership comes with the NES Nintendo Switch Online games as well. We now know exactly which games will be a part of the service for the remainder of this year. At launch (next week) you’ll be able to play these classic 8-bit NES Game Paks:
Launch Titles
- Soccer
- Tennis
- Donkey Kong
- Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros.
- Balloon Fight
- Ice Climber
- Dr. Mario
- The Legend of Zelda
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Double Dragon
- River City Ransom
- Ghosts ‘n Goblins
- Tecmo Bowl
- Gradius
- Pro Wrestling (never before released on any virtual console)
- Excitebike
- Yoshi
- Ice Hockey
- Baseball
Starting in October it appears that Nintendo will release three more NES games per month. The ones announced for the remainder of the year include:
October
- Solomon’s Key
- NES Open Tournament Golf
- Super Dodge Ball
November
- Metroid
- Mighty Bomb Jack
- TwinBee
December
- Wario’s Woods
- Ninja Gaiden
- Adventures of Lolo
That list is shaping up pretty nicely! I’m especially glad to see TwinBee make the cut because that wasn’t originally released on the NES in North America. What games do you hope make it to the service?
