Fortnite Goes Cross-Play Compatible With PlayStation 4 Players
After months of gamers and developers complaining that Sony wasn’t playing ball with cross-platform functionality, they have finally agreed to comply. Starting today PS4 players can test out the ability to play against gamers on other platforms in Fortnite. This is a huge win for the gaming community at large as well as developers and publishers that have been wanting to see this happen.
We imagine other games will follow suit once all of the kinks are worked out with Fortnite. One of the earliest games pushing for cross-platform was Rocket League, so we’d expect that one to be next on the agenda – hopefully sooner rather than later! Props to Sony for finally playing ball with everyone else.
Cross-platform play comes to PS4, beginning with an open beta for Fortnite today. Full details and supported platforms: https://t.co/RtYQv17Woj pic.twitter.com/0fDVD4N25x
