Castlevania Anniversary Collection Haunts Switch On May 16

Konami has revealed all eight games in its upcoming Castlevania Anniversary Collection, which is coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop on May 16, 2019. The games included are:

  • Castlevania (NES)
  • Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest (NES)
  • Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse (NES)
  • Castlevania: The Adventure (Game Boy)
  • Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge (Game Boy)
  • Super Castlevania IV (Super NES)
  • Castlevania Bloodlines (Genesis)
  • Kid Dracula (Famicom/NES)

Keep in mind this has been promoted as the first Castlevania collection, so if your favorites didn’t make the cut, there’s always hope for next time! As for the games included this go-round, for the most part I’m pretty happy. Both Kid Dracula and Castlevania Bloodlines are surprising in their inclusions, and I’m looking forward to playing those next month. I’m not as thrilled with the Game Boy games and would have preferred Dracula X instead, but overall I think this this a rather compelling set of games. Although I own it multiple times over, I can always spend hours playing Super Castlevania IV, one of my absolute favorites in the series.
