Super Mario Maker 2 Getting Free Update To Allow Online Friend Co-Op

We have some excellent news for potential Super Mario Maker 2 purchasers. Mr. Tezuka, producer of the game, has confirmed that there is a free update in the works for the game to allow friends to play online in the game sometime after launch. The feature was confirmed to be missing a few weeks ago, but the feedback was loud and clear and now Nintendo is reversing its decision to put that functionality into the title.

Remember the game comes out on June 28, 2019 – so we only have a few weeks left to wait to finally begin creating our very own courses! Watch the Treehouse Live demo below, where Tezuka confirms this functionality is on the way:
