Super NES Nintendo Switch Online Launches September 5 With 20 Games
Today Nintendo announced that Switch Online members will gain access to select Super Nintendo games beginning tomorrow (September 5, 2019)! 20 will be made available right out of the gate and these are free of charge to subscribers. The usual suspects are here, but some more obscure titles made their way in as well, which is very awesome to see. Games like Demon’s Crest, Stunt Race FX, and Breath of Fire aren’t ones we’d expect, but I’m happy to see them. A rewind feature is included, but alas, no sign of button mapping or the ability to get rid of that awful text at the bottom has been mentioned.
On top of that, subscribers will have an exclusive deal to purchase a wireless Super Nintendo controller that’s compatible with the SNES games on the Switch. It will run $29.99 and the controllers will begin shipping on September 18, 2019. Ordering information should be posted on Nintendo’s site soon.
